I liked Dr Pardo very much. He was a kind, knowledgable man. His wife, and also receptionist on the other hand, was not at all friendly. I had a problem paying my copayment (i had just found out I had lost my secondary insurace- so I had no copayments prior to this) since I am disabled, and with the economy, money is tight, to say the least. I explained my situation to her, and asked if they could bill me, and I would pay it before my next appointment. She said absolutely not. Plus, they would also charge me a $50 fee for cancelling my appointement so late. I asked if I could speak to Dr Pardo, again she said no. I ended up going in anyway (on the advice of Mercy's administration), and left in tears after she embarrassed and humilated me for not being able to pay my copayment in their tiny, yet packed waiting room. She wouldnt even let me see him. She obviously has no training and has no idea how to handle psychiatric patients. What if I was severly depressed, and ended up leaving and hurting myself? They should spend a little extra money and hire a receptionist who is trained in handling psych patients. I would not recommend him to anyone. And not because of Dr Pardo at all. I would still go there if it wasnt for her.
