How to prevent functional oothecoma?
Functional oothecoma is caused by one or several changes in forming and producing of ovule. When the menstrual cycle is normal one of the kinds of functional oothecoma can be formed:
- Follicle or simple oothecoma appears when small sac of ovule (follicle) situated on the ovary cannot produce ovule. As a result it gets filled with a liquid inside and outside of the ovary.
- Corpus luteum appears when the follicle of the ovule doesn’t disintegrate and continues to get filled with a liquid. This type of oothecoma is mostly widespread.
Functional oothecoma development is straight related to ovulation. But the types of it can be various, which can be caused by other diseases. So, in order to avoid serious consequences it is important to visit gynaecologist regularly as only the doctor can diagnose oothecoma and new formations on your ovaries.
It is important to mention that oothecoma cannot be prevented when the process of ovulation has already begun. Everything making ovulation rare decreases the risks of oothecoma development. Contraceptive pills, pregnancy and suckling during the first 6 months after childbirth prevent ovulation, which completely finishes with the end of menopause.
Also women taking highly-dosed contraceptive pills have low risk of oothecoma development. The preventive effect of low-dosed contraceptive pills is less obvious.
Oothecoma can be educed only while doctor`s checkup. As it has symptoms, among which are frequent urination, stomach-ache, changes of menstruation, increased body weight, similar to some other different diseases, it is important to check each of the unusual symptoms and regularly make visits to gynaecologist.
Call to ambulance immediately if you fill sudden and great stomach-ache or pelvic pain, if you suffer from nausea or vomiting, sudden dizziness, loss of consciousness, weakness, vaginal bleeding, symptoms of shock from a hemorrhea as they can appear as a result of oothecoma has been burst.
